In the 1930 United State Federal Census Record provided by Debbie Vietzke from the resource Ancestry.com there is information regarding V.R. Lee.

His home was West Frankfort, Franklin County, Illinois on that date. He was 35 years of age. Estimated birth date was "abt. 1895." He is listed as head of household, married to Margaret (27 yrs. of age), white, with children. The children were: Richard (2 yrs.) 5/12 and Fada R. Lee (1) 2/12. This information was presented on a face sheet.

A copy of V.R. Lee's draft registration card, no. 49, shows that he was registered at the age of 22. Some portions of the handwriting on this card are hard to read. Verification is appreciated! Home address at that time read Hormick (?), Iowa. Date of birth: Jan. 26, 1895, natural born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was a farmer employed by N.H. Persinger in Hormick, Iowa. He was single, caucasion with no dependants and claimed no exemptions. The card is signed with his name as Vern Ralph Lee.
